Laureen Whyte

Laureen Whyte is a recogLaureen Whytenized specialist in Community/Aboriginal Relations, CSR/Sustainable Development and Community Economic Development. She has successfully guided numerous initiatives involving diverse stakeholders for major corporations, small and medium businesses, non-profits and First Nations.

In addition to her consulting engagements, Laureen was formerly Vice President, Sustainability & Operations at the Association for Mineral Exploration BC AME BC, where she was responsible for developing and advancing industry initiatives in corporate social responsibility; Aboriginal and community engagement, consultation and economic development; land use planning; environmental assessment; and related public policy. Earlier in her career, Laureen helped establish Spectra Energy (formerly Duke Energy) as an      
innovative leader in focused community engagement initiatives.

Laureen received a Master of Arts in Public Policy (specialization in Business Administration) from the University of Calgary, and a Certificate in Corporate Citizenship from Boston College. She Chairs the Board of the BC Aboriginal Mine Training Association, Chairs the Content & Communications Committee of the Centre for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility for the Extractives Sector, serves on the Combining our Strength Council responsible for Aboriginal leadership programs of Minerva Foundation for BC Women, and is former chair of the Aboriginal Relations Committee of the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association.
